Whatever Google does is news, even if it is of no consequence to the search marketing industry. Google finance, which is relatively, a new venture of Google is already making news. It has undergone major makeover to instill more appeal in its look and feel.
We saw the launch of Google Finance around six months ago. When launched, it did not generate a lot of enthusiasm, that’s probably the reason Google has given a facelift to Google Finance, perhaps to have better market penetration. You thought, only the name is enough? However, with time the branded product has more to give to its clients. To spruce up its rating, Google Finance has now listed 40 years of historic data for US stocks. Now, that is some data!
Google Finance allows you to upload data from other portfolios on the web. You can also store multiple portfolios on Google Finance. The new homepage has loads of information that will please many users. This information can be used for currency information, sector performances, and a listing of top market movers.
This is what the official blog has to say:
* A new homepage design which lets you see currency information, sector performance for the U.S. market, and a listing of top market movers along with the relevant and important news of the day.
* A Top Movers section highlighting most active companies by price, market cap, volume, and popularity as determined by our own Google Trends.
* More comprehensive charts, which now display up to 40 years of data for U.S. stocks.
* Richer portfolio capabilities that let you import other online portfolios to Google Finance, use different views and add transactions to make it easier to track your investments.
* A quick and easy way to add and view your Google Finance portfolios on the Google Personalized Homepage.
